Lower Baker Field

The primary practice facility for the Logger football team and a secondary practice facility for men's and women's soccer and women's lacrosse, the Lower Baker Field playing surface received a major renovation in the fall of 2007 when a state-of-the-art artificial surface was installed, as well as lights that enabled for more use.

Allthough the field is used primarly for practices, Lower Baker has become one of three game sites for the Puget Sound women's lacrosse team, who has taken advantage of the lighted field to play one night game each of the past two seasons.

Excitement continues to build as the fall season inches closer. The Logger football team will report in just a few days on Aug. 14. Tyler Vlasak will report as a team captain and one of the top Logger veterans. Vlasak was named a preseason All-American in June by the Concensus Draft Services after earning a spot on All-NWC second team in 2009. “It is rewarding to have a player of Tyler’s athletic ability also be a tremendous campus leader while maintaining a 3.0 GPA,” said head coach Jeff Thomas. “He is the epitome of a Logger Football player and we hope to duplicate his work into several others this year.”
