Baseball Series With Whitman Moved To May

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Cold temperatures and predicted winter weather over the mountain passes and into Eastern Washington have pushed the four-game Northwest Conference baseball season between the Whitman Missionaries and the Puget Sound Loggers from this weekend to the first weekend of May.

While the Cascade Mountains have been experiencing snow for the last few days, the Walla Walla area is supposed to get hit with snow on Saturday night with no clearing predicted until Tuesday. The mutual decision to postpone the series was made by the two athletic departments on Friday morning.

The games are now scheduled to be played on May 1 and May 2 at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla. Game times for the two doubleheaders are to be determined.

The Loggers will next hit the diamond on Friday, Mar. 13 at Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, Calif.

After transferring to Puget Sound before his junior season, Mark made an immediate impact on the diamond, becoming the first Loggers since joining NCAA Division III to be named an All-American.
