Baseball Tilt With T-Birds Canceled

TACOMA, Wash. - Expected afternoon showers and a long line at the U.S.-Canada border has prompted the Puget Sound Loggers and British Columbia Thunderbirds to cancel their non-conference baseball game scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at Logger Field in Tacoma, Wash.

The forecast for Tacoma is calling for a 40% chance of showers between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  In addition to the expected weather hazards, UBC found themselves in an estimated three-hour wait at the Peace Arch Border Crossing near Blaine, Wash. and the coaches decided to call the game to alleviate the UBC travel concerns.  The two teams will not attempt to make up the game.

The Loggers now turn their attention towards their Northwest Conference series this weekend against Pacific Lutheran.  The four-game series begins on Saturday at Noon on PLU Baseball Field in Parkland, Wash.
