In baseball, catchers are typically a smart group. They're extension of the coaching staff on the field: they call pitches, adjust defensive positioning, and control the flow of the game. It also takes a lot of work to excel as a catcher, not just physically but mentally as well. "Being a collegiate baseball player is something I am very proud of because of the amount of time and effort I have put into the game to get to this point.” As a science major, he’s used to the mental rigors catching can take and he faces them head on. The Billings, Mont., native wants to take on many more challenges after graduation as he hopes to attend medical school.
