No minor experience

The Loggers and Lutes played in a non-conference game at Cheney Stadium – home of the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate, Tacoma Rainiers – on Tuesday, April 4. Alex Wojtysiak and Ryan Darrow both hit solo home runs for the Loggers, but the game was suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning with the score tied, 2-2. The game will resume on Logger Field on April 24, at 4 p.m.

Conference landscape

The Bearcats sit atop the NWC standings with a 13-5 conference record. They're followed by Pacific Lutheran (15-6) and Linfield (12-5). Whitworth and Whitman are both 9-9 and battle for the final NWC Tournament spot. George Fox (8-10) and Puget Sound (6-11) still have a shot at a postseason run.

Going the distance

Puget Sound has totaled seven home runs by seven different Loggers this season. Ricardo Barraza, Ryan Darrow, James Dejesus, Connor Dunn, Matt Shelhamer, Mason Quinlan, and Nolan Wiler have all homered this spring.

Scouting Willamette (21-11, 13-5 NWC)

Willamette leads the NWC with 58 stolen bases, and the team is led by Perry Van Eckhardt's 13 swipes. Willamette ranks second in the league with 26 home runs and first with 167 RBI.
