CLAREMONT, California – Logger lumber erupted in southern California, as the Puget Sound baseball team toppled Claremont-M-S, 13-3, Friday afternoon. The was cut short one inning due to darkness.
Puget Sound's 20 hits are the most since it tallied 23 against Whitman, March 25, 2016.
Jack Gries led the offensive barrage by hitting 4-for-5 at the top of the order. When he wasn't behind the plate, catcher Ricardo Barraza was clutch in the batter's box, delivering two-out RBIs on two separate occasions.
The Logger bullpen was stellar, as four relievers combined to throw 7.1 scoreless innings. Dakota Marley earned the win after allowing just two hits in three innings.
Puget Sound plays two games Saturday, Feb. 24. The Loggers take on Bates at CMS at 11 a.m., and then battle the Stags again at 2:30 p.m.
