One-run games continue to stifle the Puget Sound baseball team as Whittier won both ends of a doubleheader, 5-4 and 6-5 (10 inn.), in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. The Loggers have suffered six one-run losses this season, including three in their last four games.
The Puget Sound baseball team returns to the Golden State to take on four Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) teams over the course of four days. The Loggers have a doubleheader at Whittier (March 16), followed by single games at Occidental (March 17), at Cal Lutheran (March 18), and at Pomona-Pitzer (March 19).

The home season didn’t get off to a pretty start, but the Puget Sound baseball team is poised for a big bounce back after losing the first game of a three-game Northwest Conference series against Willamette. The Bearcats won the first game, 13-0, Saturday afternoon. Puget Sound holds a 12-2 lead through six innings of the second game, which was suspended due to darkness and will resume at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.

In Forest Grove, Oregon, the Loggers go against both Willamette (11 a.m.) and Pacific (5 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 16. The following day, the Loggers take on Whitman at 2 p.m. Pacific is hosting each game.
The Puget Sound baseball team is still in search of its first win of 2019 after it lost both ends of doubleheader at Occidental Saturday afternoon. The Tigers beat the Loggers, 8-0, in the first game, and won again in the second game, 12-3.
The reigning West Region Freshman of the year began his sophomore campaign by going 2-for-3 with a home run, but the Puget Sound baseball team lost its season opener at Pomona-Pitzer, 14-4, Friday afternoon.
