Puget Sound's MV8 defends Rainier Cup title

VANCOUVER, Washington – The Puget Sound men's varsity-eight defended its Rainier Cup title Saturday morning, beating out boats from Pacific Lutheran and Lewis & Clark. Meanwhile, the Puget Sound women placed second in the Northwest Conference Championships.

The Loggers' MV8 crossed the finish line in 6:31.1, one second ahead of the Pioneer and eight seconds ahead of the Lutes. The MN4 finished with a time of 7:32.6, which was eight seconds behind the first-place Lutes.

In women's races, Puget Sound's WV8 (7:04.6) and W2V8 (7:21.1) both placed second to PLU.

The Logger women begin to prepare for the WIRA Championships in California, April 27-28.
