Stewart, Middleton Named First Team All-NWC
TACOMA, Wash. - Puget Sound Logger fans knew that senior wide receiver Darrell Stewart (Long Beach, Calif./Loyola) and senior nose tackle Alverno Middleton (Lakewood, Wash./Clover Park) were among the best in the Northwest Conference and on Monday afternoon, the NWC agreed with them as Stewart and Middleton were named First Team All-NWC selections.
Stewart, who set a school record for receptions in a game with 15 in the season finale against Lewis & Clark, was one of four receivers honored. Darrell finished his senior season second in the NWC in receptions per game and receiving yards per game.
Middleton earned honors after an outstanding year on the defensive front. He was among the conference leaders in both sacks and tackles for loss as he kept constant pressure on the quarterback and offensive line.
