Freeman Named Academic All-American
TACOMA, Wash. - For just the third time in school history, a Puget Sound Logger football player has been named an ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American. Senior offensive lineman Boone Freeman (Tonasket, Wash.) has been named a second team selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Stewart, Middleton Named First Team All-NWC
TACOMA, Wash. - Puget Sound Logger fans knew that senior wide receiver Darrell Stewart (Long Beach, Calif./Loyola) and senior nose tackle Alverno Middleton (Lakewood, Wash./Clover Park) were among the best in the Northwest Conference and on Monday afternoon, the NWC agreed with them as Stewart and Middleton were named First Team All-NWC selections.

Loggers Pluck 37-7 Win Over Sagehens
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Scoring 34 unanswered points, the Puget Sound Loggers opened the 2008 season in grand fashion, sprinting past the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 37-7, in a NCAA Division III football game on Saturday afternoon at Merritt Field in Claremont, Calif. The game marked the season opener for both schools.

Football Picked Fifth in NWC Coaches Poll
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Puget Sound Loggers have been picked to finish fifth in the Northwest Conference this season, according to the NWC preseason coaches poll. The Wildcats of Linfield lead the poll for the eighth straight season, despite having not won the NWC title the past two seasons.

A two-sport athlete for the Loggers, Frank is one of many student-athletes from The Aloha State to attend Puget Sound. In addition to starting at safety for the football team, he is a top contributor for the Logger track and field program. "I chose UPS because I knew I wanted to play college sports but I also know I would be going pro in something other than sports."
