Loggers Pick Up Post-Season Honors

TACOMA, Wash. - Despite a disappointing season  as a team, a handful of Puget Sound Loggers were recognized for their strong individual play as the Northwest Conference announced their postseason awards.

While the Loggers didn't place any student-athletes on the first team All-NWC, juniors Chris Duenas (Puyallup, Wash.), Tyler Vlasak (Sumner, Wash.) and sophomore Damarkus Milner (Tacoma, Wash./Lincoln) were all named second-team selections.

Duenas earns honors on the offensive line after starting the entire season at left guard to represent the Loggers on the second-team offense.  On defense, Vlasak earned honors after leading the NWC in tackles, averaging 11.2 tackles per game.  Milner earned honors after averaging 7.8 tacklers per game at safety after spending his freshman year as a scout-team quarterback.

Five Loggers also earned honorable mention honors following the season.  Seniors Cory Dunn (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) and Brian Walker (Keizer, Ore./McNary) picked up honors, as did junior Casey Larson (Coupeville, Wash.), sophomore Casey Coberly (Boise, Idaho) and freshman Ross Zuhl (Issaquah, Wash.).
