TUMWATER, Wash. - Finishing the round in a steady rain, senior Jordan Hodge (Tucson, Ariz.) won his second straight tournament, firing a one-over 145 to take medalist honors at the PLU Invitational at Tumwater Valley GC in Tumwater, Wash.
The Logger men ended up second in the tournament, three strokes back of Pacific after the Boxers overcame a four-stroke deficit on day two. Junior Greg Kirkpatrick (Longview, Wash./Mark Morris) took fifth with a six-over 150 while Riley Conlin (Golden Valley, Minn./Breck) tied for sixth with an eight-over 152.
On the women's side, the Loggers also took second as nationally-ranked George Fox posted two rounds in the 320 to win the two-day event with a 654, 39 strokes ahead of Puget Sound. The Loggers were led by a 23-over from junior Natalie Nakamine (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt), who finished six-strokes back of medalist Mandy Cameron on George Fox.
Junior Sarah Bicker (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) took ninth with a 27-over 171 while Stephanie Hoffee (Sandy, Utah/Waterford) rounded out the Logger top three with a 31-over 175.
The Loggers will head over to Yakima on Saturday afternoon for the Whitman Quad at Apple Tree Golf Course. Puget Sound will take on Whitworth, Whitman and Pacific Lutheran in the one day event.
