Logger men finish fourth, women fifth at Puget Sound Invite

BREMERTON, Washington – The Puget Sound golf teams opened their spring season by hosting the Puget Sound Invitational this weekend. The Logger men placed fourth out of seven teams, and the women finished fifth out of six.

The Puget Sound men posted a two-day score of 629 (317, 312), and were led by Ben Hayes, who finished tied for 11th overall. Hayes shot a 76 on both days for 152 score. Adam Bean and Ricky Howard finished in a five-way tie for 12th with a score of 155. Bean shot an 81 on the first day and a 74 on the second, while Howard shot 75 and 80.

Pacific Lutheran won the men's event.

The Puget Sound women posted a final score of 749, after going 374 on the first day and 375 on the second. Halle Peterson came away with the team's best finish, totaling 161 (81, 80), good for ninth place. Molly Nelson tied for 19th after shooting 176 (88, 88).

Whitman won the women's event.

Both Logger men's and women's teams next compete at the Whitman Invitational on April 3.
