Men place fourth, women eighth at NWC Spring Invite

OLYMPIA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's golf team placed fourth out of nine teams at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic, and the women's team finished eighth out of nine teams over the weekend.

The men shot 634 (+74) through two rounds. Ben Hayes tied for third by finishing with a 130 (+10). Adam Bean and Ricky Howard tied for 17th overall by shooting 161 (+21), and Peter Bell finished tied for 19th with a 161 (+22). 

Whitworth won the men's event by shooting a 608 (+48). 

The women finished 212 over par for a two-round score of 788. Halle Peterson's 28th-place finish was the best for Puget Sound, posting a two-day score of 176 (+32). Lauren Boniface (+54) tied for 33rd, and Molly Nelson (+57) finished in 35th. Haley Rosenberg placed 37th overall after shooting a 213 (+69).

Whitman won the women's event with a final score of 629 (+53).

The season concludes with the NWC Championships starting on Saturday, April 25.
