Logger golf teams place sixth at NWC Championships

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's golf teams both placed sixth in the Northwest Conference Championships, which finished on Sunday. Pacific Lutheran hosted the two-day at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.

The Logger men were led by Casey Weston, who tied for 18th (158, +14).

Colin Rajczak tied for 20th (159, +15), and Mac Turner tied for 23rd (160, +16).

Jeremy Van den Berg, an All-Northwest Conference Second Team honoree, tied for 25th overall (161, +17).

As a team, the Puget Sound men shot a 638 (+62). Whitworth won the NWC title by shooting a 610 (+34).

The Logger women shot a 716 (+140) through the two rounds. George Fox won the women's conference title with a 601. The Loggers were consistent during the weekend, shooting a 357 on Saturday, followed by a 359 on Sunday.

Emmi Modahl was the top finisher for Puget Sound. She tied for 23rd overall (172, +28), and Kristi Koyanagi tied for 26th (174, +30.
