TACOMA, Washington - Jeremy Van den Berg earned All-Northwest Conference honors and Colin Rajczak flirted with the Logger's record books during the 2017 Puget Sound golf season.
Van den Berg was named to the All-NWC Second Team, due in large part to his performance in the NWC Spring Classic (April 8-9) at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington. The San Jose, California, native shot three over par through the two rounds, and he was subsequently named the Logger Club Logger of the Week.
Rajczak shot a 68 in the second round of the Whitworth Men's Invitational at the Wildhorse Resort Golf Club (March 11-12), finishing one stroke shy of the Puget Sound record for the best single-round score (18 holes). Adam Bean set the school record with a 67 in a single round during the 2013 season.
Rajczak had a couple of top-10 finishes during the spring. He tied for ninth (+9) in the Willamette Spring Thaw (April 14-15), and he placed sixth (+1) in the Whitworth Invitational (March 11-12).
Emmi Modahl and Kristy Koyanagi often set the pace for the Logger women in 2017. Modahl tied for 23rd (+28) in the NWC Championships, while Koyanagi finished tied for 26th (+30). One of Modahl's best outings was a 12th-place finish in the Willamette Spring Thaw.
