TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's golf teams host the Puget Sound Fall Invitational at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington, this weekend. Teams open with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start on Saturday, Sept. 23, followed by an 8:30 a.m. shotgun on Sunday, Sept. 24.
The men's teams will compete on the Olympic Course for both rounds. The women's teams will compete on the Cascade Course for the first round, and move to the Olympic Course for the second round.
Mac Turner set a Puget Sound men's golf record during the first weekend of competition. Turner shot a 138 through 36 holes of the Collegiate Open (Sept. 17-18) at the Home Course (DuPont Washington), setting the new Loggers standard by three strokes. Justin Benz (2003), Matt Ristine (2003, 2005), and Matt Kitto (2011) were all tied for the previous record, 141.
The Logger men next compete in the Whitworth Fall Invitational (Oct. 1-2), and the women compete in the Whitman Fall Invitational that same weekend.
