LAKEWOOD, Washington – Backed by the efforts of Reynn Hoshide and Cole Albert, the Puget Sound men's golf team placed fourth out of 10 teams during the Puget Sound Invitational, which concluded Sunday. Kristi Koyanagi led the Logger women to fourth place.
Men's teams competed in Lakewood, Washington at Oakbrook Golf Club, while women's teams were in DuPont, Washington at the Home Course.
Hoshide tied for fifth out of 48 men's golfers. He shot a 75 in the first round, followed by a 74, which is good for seven over par, overall. Albert was one stroke behind Hoshide by shooting a 75 in both rounds.
Koyanagi placed 12th out of 35 women's golfers by shooting 28 over par. She shot an 87 in the first round, followed by an 85 in the second. Onti Rosen tied for 14th after shooting 31 over par, and Allyson Niitani's 178 (+34) was good for 17th overall.
The Logger teams are off until the Northwest Conference Spring Classic, April 13-14, in Olympia, Wash.
