The University of Puget Sound sponsors golf teams for both men and women. The University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and the Northwest Conference. The conference is comprised of private colleges in the states of Washington and Oregon. Post-season opportunities are available through both of these associations for individuals and teams that qualify.

The golf program has a fall and spring season. Team qualifying and ranking matches are conducted during the fall season. In addition, the fall competitive schedule includes two tournaments and several dual matches. The spring schedule is comprised of five tournaments, several dual matches and the conference championships. The squad size for conference competitions consists of six players with the top four scores used for a team score.

Home course for the golf program is the Fircrest Golf Club, a top-rated private course with excellent practice facilities located just fifteen minutes from the University. Golf team members also have access to a state of the art golf range, Tacoma Firs Golf Center, located just a short distance from the Puget Sound campus. Tournaments and dual matches are played at many of the finest courses in the Pacific Northwest.

The men’s and women’s golf teams have experienced considerable success over the past seven years having won a combined total of 24 tournaments including 3 Northwest Conference Championships, 25 individual tournament medalist honors, 16 Northwest Conference All-Conference players and participation in 3 NCAA Division III National Tournament Championships.
