Koach, Shelton Earn CoSIDA Academic Honors
TACOMA, Wash. - In addition to their hard work on the hardwood, senior Colin Koach (Portland, Ore./Franklin) and sophomore Kaleb Shelton (Tacoma, Wash./Lincoln) have been busy in the classroom as well, earning Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Koach earns honors after posting a 3.86 grade-point average as an international political economy major. Having started all 20 games for the Loggers this season, Koach is averaging 11.3 ppg including a career-high 25 points on Tuesday in a win at Pacific Lutheran.
Shelton earns honors with a grade-point average of 3.82 as a piano performance major. Averaging 12.4 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game, Shelton in currently third in the Northwest Conference in offensive rebounds per game, averaging 2.70 per contest.
By virtue of his selection the Academic All-District team, both players are now eligible for selection the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America team.
The Academic All-America program is run by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
