Barber scores 25 in Loggers' loss to Lewis & Clark

TACOMA, Washington – Erin Barber scored a season-high 25 points but the Puget Sound men's basketball team fell to Lewis & Clark, 79-69.

Barber went 6-for-13 from the floor with ten of his 25 points coming from free throws. Nick Holden and Kohl Meyer also scored in the double-digits for the Loggers. Holden bucketed 15 points while Meyer went 4-for-8 to score 12 points

The Loggers (7-5, 2-2 NWC) opened the game by going down early to Lewis & Clark (9-6, 4-2 NWC). However the Loggers managed to claw their way back with less than five minutes left in period by going on an 8-2 run, all of which was scored by Barber.

Puget Sound closed out the period with a jump shot from James Osorio to cut the Pioneers lead to ten at halftime, 41-31.

The Pioneers held onto this ten point lead throughout much of the second half until Barber went on another run, this time 8-0. He cut the Lewis & Clark lead to eight points with just over four minutes to go in the game.

Puget Sound's comeback came just a little too late as the game ended on a 7-2 Logger run with Meyer making a lay-up before time expired.

The Loggers had eight turnovers in the game to Lewis & Clark's 17.

Puget Sound returns to action tomorrow, Jan. 17, as it hosts Linfield at 8pm.
