Wohrer named Logger of the Week as men's basketball goes 3-0

TACOMA, Washington – Men's basketball junior Jimmy Wohrer has been named the Logger Club Logger of the Week after leading Puget Sound to three consecutive wins to start the 2017-18 season.

Wohrer is averaging 23.7 points per game and 5.0 3-pointers per game through the first week of the season. Remarkably, Wohrer's scoring prowess is achieved in just 20 minutes per game.

Wohrer netted 26 points during the Loggers' season-opening win over Evergreen State, 92-80 (Nov. 15). He followed that performance with a 21-point effort in a rematch against the Geoducks during the first day of the Doug McArthur Classic (Nov. 17). Puget Sound won that contest, 119-91. Wohrer closed out the weekend with 24 points during a 118-112 victory over Redlands (Nov. 18). He shot 8-for-14 from distance against the Bulldogs.

Puget Sound is on the road for three games in southern California this week. The Loggers are at Redlands on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Puget Sound competes in the Wells Classic (hosted by Claremont-M-S) this weekend, starting with Pomona-Pitzer on Friday, Nov. 24, and then close out the trip against CMS on Saturday, Nov. 25.
