Loggers head to California for season's first road games

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team looks build off of its 3-0 start to the season with three games in southern California this week. The Loggers play at Redlands on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. Puget Sound competes in the Wells Classic, hosted by Claremont-M-S, this weekend. The Loggers take on Pomona-Pitzer this Friday, Nov. 24, followed by a game against CMS the follow day, Nov. 25. Both of those games tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

Have a week, Wohrer

Junior Jimmy Wohrer was named both the Logger Club Logger of the Week and the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 23.7 points per game through the first three games of the season.

 

A record beyond the arc

Puget Sound set a school record by hitting 24 3-pointers during its 118-12 win over Redlands (Nov. 18). The previous record was 21 against Menlo during the 2006-07 season.

 

Racking up points

The Loggers are averaging 109.7 points per game in the early going this season.

 

Don't be fooled

While the Loggers are putting up eye-popping numbers on the offensive side of the floor, Puget Sound's defense is getting the job done. The Loggers are forcing 32.3 turnovers per game.

 

Vieira very efficient

Nate Vieria is averaging a hair more than one point per minute for the Loggers. The team's second-leading scoring averages 16.7 points per game in just 16.3 minutes per contest. On the defensive front, Vieira averages 3.7 steals per game.
