Senior sendoff

The Loggers will honor seniors Easton Driessen and Jeremiah Hobbs before tipoff Saturday. The two are playing in their final regular-season game in Memorial Fieldhouse. Driessen has played in every game for the Loggers through the past two seasons, and Hobbs has more rebounds than any Logger since the start of last season.

Playoff picture

If the Northwest Conference were to start this weekend, the Loggers (7-5 NWC) would be the No. 4 (and final) seed, and they would go up against the top-ranked team in the country – Whitman (12-0) – in the first round. Linfield (9-3) is third in the NWC, and Whitworth (11-1) is second. Pacific is on the outside looking in, but it still has a fighting chance with a 5-7 NWC record.

Ultimate Wohr-ior

Jimmy Wohrer set the Puget Sound single-season record for 3-pointers made during the Loggers' thrilling 101-100 win over George Fox (Feb. 3). He hit his 84th trey of 2017-18 midway through the second half, eclipsing Curtis Medved's and Taylor Marsh's record. Wohrer will continue to build on his record as the Loggers have four regular-season games remaining. He is the NWC's leading scorer with 23.1 points per game.

Where they rank

Puget Sound's fast-pace system continues to yield team statistics that rank among the best in NCAA D-III. Puget Sound is sixth in the country in scoring offense (98.5), fourth in forced turnovers per game (26.0), fourth in offensive rebounds per game (16.75), and 10th in 3-pointers made (250).

Out-foxed the Bruins

The Loggers were down by six points with 65 seconds against George Fox last week, but Puget Sound rallied for an exciting 101-100 win in regulation. The comeback was sparked by a steal and layup by Stellan Roberts, and Easton Driessen provided the game-winning 3-pointer with 3.8 seconds on the clock.

Scouting Linfield (15-5, 9-3 NWC)

The Wildcats are riding a four-game winning streak entering this weekend. Linfield beat Puget Sound, 86-75, earlier this season. (Jan. 13). Linfield's 73.9 points per game rank seventh in the NWC, but its defense is tops in the league for fewest points allowed (65.5). Dempsey Reoggenbuck leads the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game, and Jordan Clark follows closely with 11.1.

Scouting Pacific (11-10, 5-7 NWC)

The Boxers have a three-game losing streak entering this weekend, but they play at home against Willamette Friday before arriving to Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday. Puget Sound beat Pacific, 105-84, earlier this season (Jan. 12). Brevin Brown leads the team in scoring with 15.7 points per game, and Nate Olowo follows with 14.2. Olowo is the league's second-leading rebounder with 9.2 boards per game.
