Loggers beat Pioneers, earn No. 3 seed in NWC Tournament

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team ended the 2017-18 regular season the same way it began the regular season – with a six-game winning stream. Puget Sound topped Lewis & Clark, 92-65, on the road Saturday night.

The Loggers (18-6, 11-5 NWC) earned the No. 3 seed in the Northwest Conference Tournament, and will play at Whitworth in the NWC semifinals Thursday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.

Jimmy Wohrer connected on three 3-pointers in the game, making him the first Logger in program history to make 100 3-pointers in a season. He finished with 13 points against the Pioneers (8-17, 4-12 NWC).

Anthony Rumasuglia finished with a game-high 19 points for Puget Sound, and Stellan Roberts added 12.

Puget Sound's defense forced 29 turnovers, including 21 steals. Puget Sound outrebounded Lewis & Clark, 50-39.
