TACOMA, Washington - Jimmy Wohrer scored a team-high 22 points, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost its Northwest Conference semifinal matchup at No. 4 Whitworth, 97-79, Thursday night. The Loggers were the No. 3-seed, and the Pirates were the No. 2-seed.
The Loggers struggled from beyond the arc in the first half. Puget Sound connected on just three of 19 3-point attempts (15.8 percent) in the first 20 minutes, but Puget Sound trailed by only eight points, 48-40, at the break.
Puget Sound found its shooting touch in the second half, shooting 45.5 percent (5-for-11) from 3-point range in the perioid's first 12 minutes. Overall, the Loggers shot 23.8 percent (10-for-42) from beyond the arc.
