PORTLAND, Oregon – Stellan Roberts notched his second double-double of the season, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost at Warner Pacific, 82-76, Friday night.
Roberts recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Loggers (3-5), and he added four assists. Freshman Cal Hensen approached his first-career double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Jimmy Wohrer led the Loggers in scoring with 18 points, although he struggled from 3-point range by shooting 1-for-6. Max Basile notched his second game with double-digits in scoring this season with 13 points, and he came away with five boards.
Puget Sound battled back from a 15-point deficit at halftime, 51-36. The Loggers were firing on all cylinders to open the second half, and a 17-1 run through the first seven minutes gave the Loggers a 53-52 lead.
Hansen scored six points during the Loggers' remarkable run, and Basile netted five points during that stretch. A jumper by Wohrer gave the Loggers a one-point lead with 13:09 on the clock.
Warner Pacific (10-3) quickly responded with a 3-pointer, and the Knights didn't allow Puget Sound to regain the lead for the rest for the rest of the game.
The Loggers look to erase their four-game losing streak at home against Concordia-Chicago Monday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m.
