Loggers Game at IWU Washed Away

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Record rainfall in Illinois has forced the Puget Sound Loggers and Illinois Wesleyan Titans to cancel their NCAA Division III men's soccer game, scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Bloomington, Ill.

On Saturday, O'Hare International Airport recorded rainfall of 6.64 inches.  In Bloomington, 138 miles southwest of Chicago, the recorded rainfall was 2.8 inches, which was more than enough to leave Neis Soccer Field unplayable for Sunday's game.

The Loggers opened the road trip on Friday night with a 2-1 loss at North Park University.  Statistics from the match with the NPU Vikings were still unavailable as of Noon PDT on Sunday.

Puget Sound will take the field again on Sunday when they travel down to Newberg, Ore. to open Northwest Conference play against George Fox.
