Former Logger Kickin Around Pro Ranks
The dream didn’t end when Taylor Hyde graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2009. The defender (or midfielder during his college days) helped the Loggers to a NWC Championship in men’s soccer in 2006 and signed with the Kitsap Pumas of the United States League - Professional Development League after graduation.
Hyde made an immediate impact with the Pumas as he ranked third on the team in minutes. He also anchored one of the stingiest defenses in the league to lead the Pumas to an appearance in 2009 playoffs.
During the winter months, Hyde was rewarded for his outstanding play when the Pumas loaned him to La Paz FC in Bolivia’s premier league.
Here are a couple articles about Hyde’s time abroad:

Hyde was back with the Pumas for the 2010 season and helped them to a second consecutive playoff berth. The Pumas season ended on Saturday (July 31) with a 2-1 loss to Western Conference rivals, the Portland Timbers. The Timbers will host the PDL Championships this week.
The dream lives on for Hyde as he continues to make his name known with professional soccer clubs. The future looks bright for the former Logger as he makes his way through the professional ranks.
