TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound men's soccer team struck for a trio of second half goals for a 3-0 win over Linfield on Sunday. Three different Loggers scored to power the victory.
After a scoreless first half, the Loggers (3-2, 2-0 NWC) wasted little time in hanging up a goal on the board. Peter Russell bent a corner perfectly just inside the near post to give the Loggers a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute.
Nine minutes later, Matt Durland placed a beautiful cross into the box as Vincent McCluskey headed it just over the Linfield keeper to pad the Logger lead. Colin McIntosh scored the Loggers final goal when he converted a penalty kick in the 80th minute.
The Loggers head east next week for a Saturday match at Whitworth and a Sunday match at Whitman.
