TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound men's soccer team saw its 13-match home winning streak snapped with a 4-2 loss to No. 24 Pacific Lutheran on Saturday. The Lutes (9-2, 6-1 NWC) scored four consecutive goals to capture the win.
The Loggers (6-4, 5-2 NWC) scored first when Peter Russell's free kick from just outside the penalty box found the back of the net in the 13th minute. However, Spencer Agustin answered for the Lutes in the 24th minute to knot the score at 1-1.
Agustin scored his first of two goals off of Surafel Wodajo's corner kick. Agustin scored again in the 78th minute to give the Lutes a 4-1 lead.
Lucas MacCullum scored the game-winner in the 44th minute, just over one minute before halftime. Agustin played in MacCullum behind the defense to set up the goal.
In the 60th minute, Wodajo found Chad Kearns to give the Lutes a 3-1 lead.
The Loggers fired more shots than the Lutes with a 21-15 advantage in the match, including a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal.
