SEATTLE – Junior Chris McDonald ended his junior season on a high note with his eighth shutout of the season over 19th-ranked Pacific Lutheran. For his efforts, McDonald was named the Northwest Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for men's soccer.
McDonald made five saves in the shutout, which was his eighth of the season and the 20th of his career. His 20 shutouts rank fourth all-time in Logger history and are just 10 shutouts behind the Loggers' all-time leader.
The Loggers ended their 2011 season on a five-match winning streak to run their record to 11-6 overall and 10-4 in the NWC. They finished in third place in the NWC standings behind Whitworth and PLU.
The Loggers will return nine starters next season, including McDonald as they look to continue their climb up the standings.
