McDonald, Henle, Brehove Close Out Regular Season With Weekly Honors

Three Loggers closed out the 2012 fall regular season with Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday. Chris McDonald (men's soccer), Theresa Henle (women's soccer) and Jenni Brehove (volleyball) all earned the honor.

McDonald put the finishing touches on his record-breaking career in goal for the men's soccer team. He made a pair of saves to shutout Pacific Lutheran on Senior Day, extending his school record to 33 career shutouts. It was also his 13th shutout of the season, tying the school record for shutouts in a season. The Loggers season concluded with the 2-0 win over PLU last Saturday.

Theresa Henle has scored six times in the last five matches for the women's soccer team to lead the Loggers to an 11th straight NWC title. Henle scored four goals in three matches last week, notching the game-winners against Whitworth and Lewis & Clark. The Loggers lone senior then scored two goals to celebrate Senior Day and lead the Loggers to a 4-0 win over Pacific. The Loggers face Trinity in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. (PT) in San Antonio, Texas.

Jenni Brehove had 39 assists to lead the Loggers to a sweep of Pacific Lutheran on Halloween and had 32 more to lead the Loggers to a sweep of Lewis & Clark to conclude the 2012 season. The Loggers won all of their final six matches to help earn an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament, which begins on Friday at 3 p.m. when the Loggers face Colorado College.
