TACOMA, Washington – Jacob Palmer has been named the Northwest Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced recently.
Palmer, a Portland, Oregon, native, played all 180 minutes of the Loggers' two victories over the weekend. He recorded his first-career shutout in a 2-0 win at Willamette on Oct. 1. He made four saves in the victory. The following day, the senior tallied five saves, as Puget Sound took down Linfield, 2-1.
Palmer leads the Northwest Conference with a .846 save-percentage, and his 0.85 goals-against average ranks second.
The honor is the second weekly conference honor for the Loggers. Wren Norwood previously was named the Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Sept. 6.
Puget Sound plays at crosstown rival Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2:30 p.m.
