TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team came out strong Tuesday evening in their season-opener against Eastern Oregon, but the Mountaineers beat the Loggers, 1-0.
Within the first 15 minutes of play, Puget Sound tallied three corner kicks, and Lucas Curry's header off one of those corners hit the crossbar.
Late in the first half, Eastern Oregon's Oscar Munoz, snuck in a goal behind Wren Norwood.
The two teams continued to battle all second half, but the score remained 1-0.
Even though Puget Sound out-shot Eastern Oregon, 9-8, the Loggers were unable to capitalize in the final third in Tuesday's game.
The Loggers return to their home field to take on Wheaton this Friday, Sept. 8, at 4:30pm.
