Men's soccer up four spots in regional poll

TACOMA, Washington – Riding a three-game winning streak, the Puget Sound men's soccer team jumped to No. 5 in this week's United Soccer Coaches West Region poll. The Loggers were No. 9 last week.

The Loggers' streak started with a 4-1 triumph at Linfield on Sept. 14. Puget Sound returned home to beat both Whitman, 1-0, on Sept. 23, and Whitworth, 4-1, the following day. 

Senior goalkeeper Robert Jorgensen was named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week  (defense) on Monday. He is the second Logger  this season to earn the weekly honor (Ezra Kraus, offense).

Puget Sound is on the road this weekend, starting with a 12 p.m. contest at George Fox on Saturday, Oct. 1.
