Logger Men Win Third Straight, 5-4

TACOMA, Wash. - After a tough February, the Puget Sound Loggers are making the most of March, winning their third-straight Northwest Conference men's tennis match over the Pacific Boxers, 6-3, on Friday afternoon at the UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.

In doubles play, the freshman squad of Sam Finkleman (Tacoma, Wash./Charles Wright Academy) and Nick Kelley (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver) held off the team of Michael Okada and Eric Furuya for a 9-8 victory. The Loggers also got a doubles win from Scooter Sabel (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community School) and Andrew Timmons (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) as they rolled past Patrick Kinghorn and Nhat Nguyen, 8-1.

In singles play, senior Jamie Hosmer (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino) led the Loggers with a win at the top singles position, defeating Okada, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Finkleman, and Sabel also posted wins the Loggers collected the 5-4 win.

The Loggers will be at home again on Saturday when they play host to Linfield.
