M. Tennis Moves Into Sixth With Win Over L&C

TACOMA, Wash. - With the race for seeding for the 2009 Northwest Conference Championships in full stride, the Puget Sound Loggers put themselves in line for a berth with a 6-3 win over Lewis & Clark on Saturday afternoon at UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.

In doubles play, the Pios got the win at the top spot but the Loggers battled for two wins at the second and third positions to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.  In individual play, Alex Harrison (Southborough, Mass./The Rivers School), Nick Kelley (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver), Scooter Sabel (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community School) and Andrew Timmons (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) all collected wins to clinch the match for the Loggers.

The Loggers hit the road next week to conclude the NWC regular season, traveling to Pacific Lutheran on Wednesday and Willamette on Saturday.
