Loggers Sweep Western New England

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Puget Sound men's tennis team finished up its trip to Florida with a 9-0 sweep of Western New England on Thursday. The Loggers (2-10) dropped their first three matches over spring break before coming away with the win.

Michael Cutter and Graham started the sweep with an 8-5 win in No. 1 doubles. John Stevens and Abe Noyes then took the No. 3 match 8-6. Daniel Deuel and Jake Peterson then completed the sweep with a 9-7 win at No. 2.

Baker went on to win easily in the No. 2 match – 6-0, 6-1. Noyes also won in straight sets in the No. 5 match as did Stevens at No. 6.

Cutter won the No. 1 match after dropping the first set 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 while Peterson saw a similar result with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4. Deuel completed the sweep at No. 3 with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win.

The Loggers head back to Tacoma and will next face crosstown rivals Pacific Lutheran on Apr. 5.
