TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's tennis team lost at home against Whitworth, 9-0, Saturday. Meanwhile, the Puget Sound women lost at Whitworth, 6-3.
Riley Inn nearly came away with a victory at men's No. 2 singles. After dropping the first set, Inn won a very close second set, 7-6 (8-7). However, the Logger junior lost the tie-breaking third frame, 10-6.
In women's competition, Lisa Owen won at No. 1 singles (6-4, 6-3) for the fourth time in five matches. Barclay Fagg overcame a first-set loss to win at No. 4 singles (4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5)). Tresa Bild also won in singles competition, taking the No. 6 battle in two sets (6-3, 6-1).
The Puget Sound men host No. 23 Whitman, Sunday, April 8, at 11 a.m. The Loggers will honor senior Joe McRoberts, who is playing in the final home match of his collegiate career.
