Loggers Earn NWC Softball Honors
SPOKANE, Wash. - Senior Victoria Raeburn (Gladstone, Ore.) and freshman utility player Aryn Grause (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) earned Second-Team All-Northwest Conference honors as the 2009 All-NWC softball teams were released by the conference office on Monday evening.

TACOMA, Wash. - A single by Carolyn Moore (Seattle, Wash./Holy Names) in the bottom of the seventh was enough to score Victoria Raeburn (Gladstone, Ore.) from third as the Puget Sound Loggers completed the 5-4 comeback win over the Pacific Lutheran Lutes in the second game of a Northwest Conference softball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Logger Softball Field in Tacoma, Wash. The Lutes took the opener, 6-5, in extra innings.

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to the poor field conditions.

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Getting out of the rainy Northwest for a few days, the Puget Sound Loggers took advantage of the nice weather, blanking a pair of non-conference opponents on their first day of the 2009 Sun West Tournament, hosted by Chapman University. In their first game, Puget Sound defeated Hamilton (N.Y.), 1-0, and then collected an 8-0 win over Grinnell (Iowa) in the second game.

Concordia defeated the Loggers, 4-2, in the first game but Puget Sound responded with a 12-4 win over Northwest Christian in their second game.
