Loggers Earn NWC Softball Honors
SPOKANE, Wash. - Senior Victoria Raeburn (Gladstone, Ore.) and freshman utility player Aryn Grause (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) earned Second-Team All-Northwest Conference honors as the 2009 All-NWC softball teams were released by the conference office on Monday evening.
Raeburn earned honors after hitting .341 in 129 at-bats with a school-record 16 doubles on the season. Raeburn also posted a fielding percentage of .957 in 257 chances. She earned Honorable Mention All-NWC honors as a sophomore.
Grause earns honors following her first collegiate season after batting .393 in 112 at-bats with 13 doubles, three triples, three home runs and 25 RBIs. Grause also went 3-6 in the circle, posting a 3.53 ERA in 73.1 innings pitched with 40 strikeouts and just 18 walks.
Senior shortstop Meghan Watson (Brier, Wash./Mountlake Terrace) and freshman catcher Megan Janes (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe) both earned Honorable Mention All-NWC honors for the maroon and white.
Conference champion Linfield swept the individual awards, with Brittany Miller being named Pitcher of the Year and Staci Doucette earning Player of the Year honors. Linfield head coach Jackson Vaughan was named NWC Coach of the Year.
