Senior sendoff

Before first pitch Saturday, Puget Sound will celebrate their two senior members – Jessica Shimoda and Mckenna Johnson – who are playing in their final collegiate softball games.

Dropping a dime

Puget Sound freshman pitcher Kelsie Sullivan struck out a season-high 10 batters at Willamette (April 13). She allowed just two earned runs on five hits and two walks through seven innings.

With the bat, too

In addition to her prowess in the circle, Kelsie Sullivan is proving to be a reliable two-way player. She leads the Loggers in doubles (8) while posting a .305 batting average in 82 at-bats.

The future is here

Kelsie Sullivan isn't the only first-year Logger making a big impact this season. Hana DeGuzman  leads the Loggers in hitting (.322), triples (2), and steals (5). Maddie Colombo is batting .315 – she and Abbi Wong both have multiple home runs this season.

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (20-17, 11-13 NWC)

The Lutes split four games at George Fox last weekend, after sweeping Willamette in four games in the week prior. Kathryn Hatlen is the NWC's leading hitter (.496), and she ranks third with 38 RBI. The Lutes' 258 runs this season rank second in the conference, but the pitching staff has surrendered the most home runs (35).
