    When she’s not putting in swings in the batting cage, Mckenna Johnson can be found working near a different stage. The Puget Sound softball junior recently made her directorial debut on campus during Homecoming and Family Weekend. The script, written by Puget Sound JUNIOR Ali Lawrence, fascinated Johnson from the start: Personified Pepsi and Coke cans.
  • Robin Hamilton, Puget Sound's Associate Director of Athletics, to retire after 32 years with the Loggers

    Robin Hamilton, a longtime member of the Puget Sound athletics department, has announced her retirement effective September 1, 2017, after 32 years with the Loggers. She joined the Puget Sound athletics staff in 1985, andhas been the Loggers Associate Director of Athletics since 2001. Prior to her senior administrative appointment, Hamilton was the Sports Media Relations Director and Head Softball Coach.
  • Puget Sound earns 111 NWC Scholar-Athletes

    Puget Sound earned 111 Northwest Conference Scholar-Athlete honors, the NWC announced Tuesday. Meghan Bacher '17 and Hans Fortune '17 both earned NWC First Team Scholar-Athlete nods. In order to qualify, NWC Scholar-Athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA.
  • Hall-of-Famer Peterson continues softball career as an umpire

    Erin Peterson mashed 23 home runs, drove 183 runs, and batted .380 during her four years (1997-00) with the Puget Sound softball program. She was named a First-Team All-American in 1999. Following her undergraduate studies, Peterson remained with the Loggers as an assistant coach (2001-04) while she attended the School of Physical Therapy at Puget Sound.

    The Puget Sound softball team used the 2017 season to prove that they are a team to be reckoned with in the Northwest Conference. The Loggers started the season 5-4, and ultimately won their final game of the season against rival Pacific Lutheran, while improving on their win total from a year ago.

    Puget Sound junior first baseman Jessica Gott has been named to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday. Gott was named to the District 8 Team as an infielder.

    Alexis Noren (women's basketball) was named Puget Sound's Most Outstadning Female Student-Athlete, and Hans Fortune earned Most Outstanding Male Student-Athlete during the Loggers' annual All-Sports Celelbration in Memorial Fieldhouse Tuesday night. University of Puget Sound president Isiaah Crawford presented the awards to both Noren and Fortune.
  • SAAC hosts Special Olympics Field Day

    In one of the most popular annual events for Puget Sound athletics, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the Metro Parks Tacoma Special Olympics on Monday, April 17. Special Olympians competed in basketball, kickball, and soccer with the support of Logger student-athletes from all 23 varsity teams.
