Loggers Swim Past Pios

PORTLAND, Ore. - Competing in their final road dual meet of the Northwest Conference season, the Puget Sound Loggers swam past the Lewis & Clark Pioneers on Saturday afternoon in Portland, Ore.  The Logger men defeated L&C, 111-63, while the UPS women collected the 121-82 win.

The Loggers started the meet off with sweeps in the 400 Medley Relay, with the Logger women posting a winning time of 4:16.97 and the Logger men going 3:52.06.  Puget Sound then won seven of the first eight individual events to pull ahead in the point standings as they cruised to the team victories. 

Elizabeth MacAfee (Los Gatos, Calif.) picked up a pair of wins for the Loggers, winning both the 1000 Free and the 500 Free.  Jake Rifkin (Edina, Minn.) also won a pair for the Loggers, taking the 200 Free and 200 Fly.

The Loggers will be at home next weekend, playing host to Whitman on Friday night before meeting up with Whitworth on Saturday afternoon.
