TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's swimming teams opened their 2014-15 home slate with wins over Northwest Conference foe Pacific on Friday night.
The men's squad beat the Boxers, 104-83, and the women came out on top, 105-82.
Melissa Norrish, the 2013-14 Northwest Conference Female Swimmer of the Year, won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:31.13. She also won the 200 freestyle after touching the wall in 2:17.41. Nick Mitchell picked up a pair of first-place finishes for the Logger men after he won the 800 freestyle (8:46.40) and the 400 freestyle (4:15.91).
Both Puget Sound quads opened the meet by winning 400 medley relay, as the women's side (Samantha Anders, Anne Shirey, Auri Clark, Lauren Kochanowski) finished in 4:43.93, and the men's side (Grant Garcia, Jarik Bainco, Brian Parker, Cody Dodge) timed in at 3:53.90.
The Loggers remain at home this weekend as they host Lewis & Clark on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m.
