Reimers, Callahan earn NWC honors

TACOMA, WashingtonDylan Reimers and Kelli Callahan were both named Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for men's and women's swimming, respectively, the NWC recently announced.

Both Reimers and Callahan earned two first-place and one second-place finishes at Trinity (Tex.), Jan. 9. Reimers won the 300-yard freestyle (2:48.43) and placed second in the 250-IM (2:43.26). He was part of the victorious 450-freestyle relay team (3:51.93) with Caleb Van Boven, Justin Sasano, and Nick Mitchell.

Callahan won the women's 250-IM (2:50.38) and took second in the 300-freestyle (3:09.54). She teamed up with Melisa Kegans, Kayla DiMicco, and Calista Skog to win the 450-freestyle relay (4:09.13).

Both Reimer and Callahan earned their second NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season.

Puget Sound returns to NWC competition at Whitman and at Whitworth this weekend.
