TACOMA, Washington – Three Northwest Conference titles. Two Northwest Conference records. Seven All-Northwest Conference honors. And, of course, the 2018 Co-Northwest Conference Swimmer of the Year. Kelli Callahan is the natural for this week's Logger Club Logger of the Week.
Callahan began the 2018 NWC Championships (Feb. 9-11) at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center by setting a conference record during preliminaries. The sophomore finished the 200-IM in 2:05.23, but the new NWC record lasted less than 10 hours, because she broke it again during the finals later that day. Callahan touched the wall in 2:04.41 during the 200-IM finals.
The following day, Callahan set the NWC record to win the 400-IM (4:25.51), and she claimed the NWC crown in the 100-breaststroke (1:05.05).
Callahan also earned All-NWC Second Team honors in the 200-medley relay, 400-medley relay, 400-freestyle relay, and 800-freestyle relay.
