Loggers Hit The Track At Runner's Soul Open

MOSCOW, Idaho - For the majority of the student-athletes on the 2009 track and field roster, the season began on Saturday at the Runner's Soul Open, hosted by University of Idaho at the Kibbey Dome in Moscow, Idaho.

In the women's 800m run, Nike Evans (Wayzata, Minn.) took sixth with a time of 2:29.05.  On the men's side, Darrell Stewart (Long Beach, Calif./Loyola) took 12th in the 60m Dash with a time of 7.25.  

Francis Reynolds (Palo Alto, Calif.) took 11th in the Mile Run, covering the distance in 4:34.17 while teammate Cameron Butler (Idaho Falls, Wash.) took 13th with a time of 4:34.94.  Andrew Bonica (Tualatin, Ore.) took fifth in the 5000m Run, covering the distance in a time of 16:03.20.

The Loggers will have one more chance to meet the NCAA DIII Indoor Qualifying marks on Feb. 15 when they head to Dempsey Indoor in Seattle for the UW Open.
