McGrane Meets Provisional Mark In Heptathlon

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Competing in her first multi-event meet of 2009, junior Caitlin McGrane (Colville, Wash.) earned a provisional score in the heptathlon at the Cal State Northridge Spring Break Open at Matador Track in Northridge, Calif.

McGrane started out strong, taking first in the 100m Hurdles with a mark of 15.46. McGrane also took first in the javelin with a throw of 103-07. She added crucial points in the 800m Run, placing second with a time of 2:21.18, and in the shot put, placing third with a throw of 32-03.00.

McGrane finished the seven-event competition with a score of 4325, which is 225 points better than the 2009 NCAA Division III provisional cut.
